We Dig TV is the result of a 5 year journey for us..... and it all began in the Winter of 2001. The journey is by no means complete and so far it has taught us some important things; like where we want to go and just as importantly, what we want to achieve. We've worked hard throughout this 5 year adventure and we hope this collection of i-shows gives you as much joy and satisfaction playing them, as we have had developing them.
We've always thought that the broadband experience should be two way. It should engage you and allow you to dictate the terms of your experience. It should also be rich, fun and very very rewarding. Like TV itself, it should make you laugh and want to phone your friends.. So, what better way to showcase this vision than through WeDigTV.
The JD Project was formed by Beau Ner Chesluk, Russell Irwin and Anthony Rushton on the basis that there would always be a place for high quality, technically advanced rich online entertainment in your hearts. For this reason we have a team of experienced video game professionals whose task it is to get you really involved in what we produce.
2001 was too early to really flex our technical and creative muscles as we were still awaiting the growth of high speed connectivity. So we spent the majority of the next 3 years honing our technology applications in anticipation of broadband becoming mass market. We also worked with a multitude of firms on an online production basis, so as to fund our growth and research. Picking up a few national awards along the way.
Our big break, the moment we had been working towards finally came in the summer of 2003, when we were commissioned by Celador International to develop and produce the Broadband Version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" - a truly ground breaking production that defined the "i-show" format and went on to pick up the 2003 British Interactive Media Association award for Best Broadband Site. "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" was sold internationally and we were kept on to produce all the versions.
The years 2004 and 2005 were spent growing the team and firming up our position as leaders in the development and implementation of broadband entertainment. We needed to become the owners of our content as well as the producers so off we went, armed with our laptops, to forge partnerships and commercial deals with TV format owners across the UK. By mid 2006 we had trialled an i-show version of Bullseye and proved demand for i-shows beyond any doubt.
So far we've had offices in Brixton (our first!), Holloway (not good), Golden Square (the wonder year!) and Regent Street ( very busy!) where we currently reside to this day: albeit in a much larger office than when we arrived! Have a look at the pictures to see some of our places. Note we even renovated them by ourselves!
We hope you enjoy the fruits of our ongoing journey and continue to keep a keen eye out for future i-shows, some of which you're sure to be familiar with. Thanks for visiting our site and please let us know what you think.
